Teachers and Lessons
Want to learn Rock & Roll? These classes are conducted in a friendly social atmosphere at Racquets SA, 1303 South Road, StMarys in conjunction with the Adelaide Rock & Roll Club. There is instruction for beginners and intermediate dancers. The cost is $5 and all are welcome. You will also see lots of demonstration from experienced dancers. Learn your favourite Rock 'N' Roll dances with top Rock 'N' Roll Dance Teacher, Sandy Fry. Come along and join in the fun every Monday 7.30 PM - 10.30 PM at the Deaf Society, 262 South Terrace, Adelaide. For further information contact Sandy on 0404 078 175. Lessons $5. Well-known teacher, George Davison, will show you the basics and finer points of Rock 'n' Roll dance. Every Monday night at the Eden Valley Institute, Eden Valley from 7.30pm. Every Tuesday night at the European Convention Centre, 292 Findon Road, Findon from 7.30pm. When these lessons coincide with the Rock 'n' Roll Club Nights, on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday each month, students receive free entry to the Club Night. Every second Wednesday night at the Mannum Community Club, 66 Randell Street, Mannum, from 8.00pm. All welcome. The cost is $6 per person. This dance style is similar to Rock & Roll but with different footwork. Its at the Governor Hindmarsh Hotel, Port Road, Hindmarsh. Lessons are from 12 PM until 1.30 PM for $4 followed by a Cajun style lunch for $5. Afterwards, practice in the front bar until 5PM. Contact Martin on 0415471709 for more details.
Tuesday nights at the All Saints Church of England, at the corner of Lamington Avenue & Brighton Road , Seacliff Park. Beginners Lesson starts at 7.00 PM. Social Progressive Swing Class 7.30 to 8.15 PM. Social Dancing 8.15 to 8.30 PM. Advanced 8.30 to 9.00 PM. Social Dancing & Shim Sham 9.00 to 9.30 PM. $5.00 pays for the whole evening. The beginners class only is free so come & have a try at Swing Dancing. The progressive method of learning makes it easy to start dancing & fun meeting people as you dance.
