Dating Stories

Re-united By Fate or Luck

contributed by C. 9th September 2005

I met this person more than 28 years ago at work. We went out twice. After that I left the organisation and was married and had 2 children as did he.

25 years later, I was having Rock and Roll lessons at a certain venue when a person I had worked with at the same place approached me and pointed out this particular person. I would not have recognised him and would have passed by if it was not for our mutual friend.

He was still married at the time so I said it was lovely to catch up with him and that I had always wondered what had happened to him and what he was doing. On that note we parted company. A year later I was conducting some business in a shop when I got a phone call out of the blue. A voice at the other end asked if I knew who he was. I had no idea at the time until he said think back 28 years ago. I nearly fainted on the spot. He had recently separated from his wife. We arranged to catch up for coffee. Here we are today 3 years later still enjoying each other's company. Some would call this fate, I would call this lucky.

Ed. Perhaps fate decreed that you would be lucky. Whichever it is, we are happy for you.

Dating: Y-Front?

contributed by Anonymous 3rd March 2006

Gareth was told this at a Friday Night Dinner.

Firmly settled into a relationship, the lady gained quite a bit of weight. Too much, it seems, as she could no longer fit into her clothes, including her lingerie.

Unfortunately, the strain on her apparel was matched by a strain on her budget. She couldn't afford to replace them - including her lingerie. Came the boyfriend gallantly to the rescue. He made her a present of some of his y-front underpants, which were now her size.

Sadly, the relationship went the way that so many of them do. Not long after, they split. Back on the singles scene, she started dating another man. Came an amorous interlude and the handsome hopeful stuck his hand up the lady's skirt. To his astonishment and horror, instead of feeling-up some feminine frillies he found himself fondling a pair of masculine y-fronts.

His reaction was the only one possible at the time - "this must be a bloke!" The lady found herself having to convince him that she was neither a transvestite nor a trans-sexual.

Ed. Hmm. This could put ideas into some women's heads.
